VoxCut 2.0: Turbo Mode, Demo Models, and a Faster First Run

VoxCut 2.0 is out for Windows, and it's built around two things people kept asking for: a way to try the app in ten seconds without hunting down a file to test on, and a faster way to process long recordings when you don't need every cut to be silky-smooth.

Try it before you drop a file in

The biggest friction in any silence-remover is the first five minutes: you open the app, and it wants a file. If you don't have one handy, you close the tab.

VoxCut 2.0 adds Demo Models — five short, realistic audio samples (podcast interview, social clip, YouTube narration, online course, and a noisy recording) sitting right under the drop zone. Click one and the app loads it with a matching preset already applied, so you hear a real before/after in one click, no file required, no sign-up, no account.

• Full processing power during the demo — nothing about the trial is watered down
• Available in English and localized voice samples, matching VoxCut's existing language support

This isn't a gimmick screen you click through once. It's meant to answer the one question every new visitor has — "what does this actually do to my file?" — before they've committed to anything.

Turbo mode: process long files roughly twice as fast

VoxCut's normal export applies smooth crossfades between kept segments, which sounds better but costs time on dense files — long interviews, multi-hour recordings, anything with hundreds of detected cuts.

Turbo mode trades that smoothness for speed: it removes silence in a single pass instead of stitching segments together with fades. On realistic content (podcasts, meetings, interviews) that's roughly twice as fast as the standard export — measured, reproducible, not a marketing estimate.

The trade-off is real and we're upfront about it: Turbo makes clean, sharp cuts rather than smooth transitions. For most spoken-word content the difference is barely noticeable; for material where you rely on VoxCut's crossfades to hide the cut points, stick with standard mode. Turbo is a Pro feature, and it's disabled for video (audio-only for now).

A note on speed claims: you'll sometimes see very large multiplier numbers ("hundreds of times faster than real-time") tied to extreme cases — a recording that's almost entirely silence. On realistic content with a normal mix of speech and pauses, expect roughly 35–50× real-time in standard mode and 70–100× in Turbo, depending on your machine. We'd rather give you a number that matches what you'll actually see.

Smaller improvements that add up

• Partial export under the 10-minute free limit — instead of a hard stop, the free tier now offers to export just the first 10 minutes, or upgrade for the full file
• Advanced settings are fully explorable for free — all six fine-tuning sliders plus normalize/noise-reduction switches can be adjusted and previewed before export; only the final export of customized (non-Auto) values requires Pro
• Clearer export screen — "Open file" / "Open folder" buttons sit above the upgrade prompt, and first-time exports get a different message than repeat ones
• Optional feedback prompt — after your third export, once you've actually opened the result at least once, VoxCut asks a quick 👍/👎 — and only ever asks once
• In-app update notifications — VoxCut now checks for new versions and shows a banner when one's available, instead of you finding out from the website

Launch pricing

To mark the 2.0 release, VoxCut Pro is €39 instead of its regular €59 for the first 20 customers, with code LAUNCH30 applied automatically at checkout. It's still a one-time payment — no subscription, ever.

What's next

Turbo mode's sharp cuts are the current trade-off for speed; a smoother fast-mode without that compromise is on the roadmap but isn't ready yet. If you rely on crossfades, standard mode remains the default and isn't going anywhere.
